Join a supportive community that’s here to bring you comfort, strength and understanding every step of the way.
Please note: Emotional Support Animals are not legally recognised in the UK. Joining us may help explain the role your animal plays in supporting you, but they don’t grant any legal status or access rights – that’s always down to the individual business or organisation.
At ESA Registry UK, we’re here to make life a little easier for you and your Emotional Support Animal (ESA). We understand that the bond between a person and their companion is something truly special — a source of comfort on the harder days, a steady presence through life’s ups and downs, and a friendship quite unlike any other. As a welcoming support network and community of like-minded owners, we’re dedicated to celebrating the genuine comfort, companionship, and quiet reassurance that ESAs can bring to everyday life, and the meaningful difference they can make to emotional and mental wellbeing.
We’re proud to bring together people from all walks of life who share a deep appreciation for the animals at their side. Whether your companion greets you at the door, sits with you through a difficult moment, or simply reminds you that you’re never quite alone, we believe that role is worth celebrating and supporting. Our community is built on understanding, kindness, and a shared belief in the positive part an ESA can play in someone’s life — and we’re honoured to walk alongside you and your companion on that journey, every step of the way.
When you join us, you become part of a warm and welcoming community that truly understands the special place your companion holds in your life. We’re here to make things that little bit simpler, giving you the tools, the documents, and the friendly support you need to explain to others the important role your companion plays in supporting your day-to-day wellbeing. From the moment you sign up, you’ll have everything to hand — ready whenever a conversation calls for it — so you can feel confident and reassured, knowing you’re never navigating the journey alone.
We’re an independent community that’s here for you. We’re not affiliated with any government or official body.
Emotional Support Animals have no legal recognition under UK law, and joining us doesn’t grant any guaranteed access rights. What we provide are documents that help explain the role your companion plays in supporting your wellbeing — whether to accept them is always down to the individual business, landlord, or organisation.
Emotional Support Animals (ESAs) are not explicitly recognised under UK law, and granting access is at the discretion of an individual organisation or business. Joining a support network like ours does not guarantee acceptance, but can make conversations easier and help explain the role your companion plays in your life.
It’s worth being cautious here. There is no official ESA register in the UK, and no document or membership — from us or anyone else — can grant your animal legal status or a guaranteed right of access. If a website tells you that registering will give your ESA legal rights, public access, or official recognition, that simply isn’t accurate. We’d always encourage you to be wary of any service making those promises, and to understand exactly what you’re paying for before you sign up. We’re upfront about what membership with us does and doesn’t offer, because we think honesty matters more than overpromising.
An Emotional Support Animal (ESA) provides comfort and emotional well-being to individuals with mental health challenges. Unlike service animals, ESAs don’t require specialised training but play a vital role in improving emotional and mental health.
Registration is not legally required in the UK, but it can help gain support, and explain how your ESA helps you to landlords, transport providers, and others.
Yes, any domesticated animal can be an ESA. Common ESAs include dogs, cats, rabbits, and birds.
